Pressure of the Century

Today TV3 aired the last show for Rexona No Sweat Dance Challenge. The Grand Finals.

Sigh... I feel so sad. That’ll be the last memory of our tortures but incredibly fun 2 months of our lives. A lot of things happen in that 2 months. I had to leave the girls for my stupid UiTM orientation. For a week! Raihan had to leave for Melaka. She comes back almost every night for practice. How crazy is that! The week before quarterfinals and semi-finals, we were all sick except for Cynthia. I had a kidney infection, Veronica had high fever, Raihan had a flu and Cynthia, she’s just mentally and physically retarded. In a healthy way. Hee…

And the last but definitely not least, PRESSURE!

Rexona No Sweat my butt! It pressured us for 2 months, god damn it!

Fiuh, I got it all out now.

Anyways, today’s show was the Grand Finals and god help me we were terrible at impromptu / freestyle. At first it looked alright then after awhile we started banging each other and making a fool of ourselves.

Dorks

Then came the judges’ choice number. Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy! Damn we were cute! BUT… I kinda made a teensy weensy mistake and the stupid camera-man focused the camera right on me! Why??? Why did you help Cynthia cover her mistakes in the semifinals and not me??? Why Mr. Camera-man??? Why??? And you focused on Cynthia’s face at my favourite part! You Cynthia lover! Baaah! Neways, we did a good job in the end. Apart from the bad camera focus!

My favourite part.

Anyhoo, I just looovveee our last challenge. Asmaradana + Safri Duo = Asmaraduo. The first part of Asmaradana was mesmerizing. I am so proud… tsk tsk (wipes tear). Then Safri Duo started. It was a shocking change actually. We were very synchronized and had full energy but that day was just a bad luck day for me. We tied a scarf around our body over black long sleeves as a costume and my scarf got untied and it fell. So throughout the whole Safri Duo the scarf was hanging around my waist. Damn ungly I tell you! Wait, I’m not done yet… the black long sleeves that we were wearing is a low neck so without the scarf I kinda flash. So they practically cut some of our scenes! Mother*&^%$#!!!!!

This is the part my scarf got untied

TENSION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think I should stop writing bout this. It’s giving me high blood pressure.

Okay, last Saturday, Funky Socks had a very busy day. In the morning, we went to Time Square in KL to help out a group of university students to do an advertisement. Their assignment is about making an advert about Rexona so coincidently they’re in the same faculty with Raihan so they asked for our help. So there we were, dancing in Time Square, making a fool of ourselves. After that, they belanja us McDonalds. Yumm!

So around noon, we went back to PJ to prepare for a performance on that night. My cousin asked us to peform for Tengku Kudsia College’s reunion at the Islamic Arts Museum. I know what you’re thinking, don’t worry they’re just using that place. There’s a restaurant in it. Nothing to do with religious whatever. Anyhoohoo, I received a call from my cousin asking whether we would like to rehearse there. So I picked up the girls and rushed back to KL. At 6.30, we went back to PJ to freshen up from the sweatiness. Around 8.30, rushed back to KL again, and do what we do best!

Basically, I walked, dance and drove the whole day. I drove back and forth KL three times. We even ate lunch in the car to save time! How sad is that!

Only 5 of us performed... Veronica, Kirsty and Fiona couldn't make it... Funky Socks has 8 dancers by the way...

The theme was Middle East so for the performance I choreographed a new song by Shakira called Ojos Asi. The song sounds very Lebanese and Arab-ish so in the dance I used tambourine and fans! And a lot of butt shaking! Heee….
