College Hopping
Dilemma, dilemma…There’s something about my parents when it comes to wanting me to do something I enjoy.
The story of my confused, catch-22 life…
My aunty, who was a UiTM (University institut Teknologi Mara…for you people who still don’t know what it stands for) lecturer of the department of music a few years ago went to Langkawi for a meeting. Apparently, a few over-excited performing arts lecturers are planning to build a Performing Arts Centre on that island.
Anyways, while having lunch with the lecturers, she suddenly heard someone mentioned my name. So she said “Mahani is my niece..”
It appears that some lecturers there were my ex-lecturers from UiTM and according to my aunty, they were complimenting me. *blush* =)
A dude from National Arts Academy overheard their conversation and told my aunty he wants to meet the girl they were talking about. So one week later, my aunty and my parents brought me to see this dude. That dude is the principal of dance in National Arts Academy and he wants me to join his academy.
Huh?
Change college again?
This place is like a college, we learn basic college things like English, Malaysian studies, philosophy, shits like that. Plus we will learn dance. Not how to dance but the history, dance technics, tradisional, modern, choreography, every single thing about dance. He said if I do well he’ll send me overseas to do my degree / masters. Sounds interesting eh?
But, I don’t want to leave HELP. I’m alright there. Well, not when it comes to math but I’m alright. The bad thing was that dude told me he would not encourage me to do freelance dancing if I join the academy. Now that sucks.
Oh ya, because of my ‘lagging to update’, I didn’t get the chance to inform you that I’m under Linda Jasmin productions too. Woohoo!
Anyways, back to my dilemma. If it makes my parents happy, I’ll do it. I’ll join the freakin academy. It’ll save a lot of my money too. Obviously the academy is cheaper than HELP. So instead of saving my money for education, I can spend it! Yahoo!
I like freelance dancing. It’s tiring but it’s so so fun. Especially when it comes to wearing extravaganza costumes.

In my Jambala costume
Most probably... No more Switch. No more Linda Jasmin. No more weird but cool costumes.
