Firdaus' 18th Birthday!

I LoVe BiRtHdAy PaRtIeS!

Since my good friend Firdaus a.k.a Papa Bear came back from the flooded Perlis. We, Joanna and I, have been so worried about him going back there without getting to celebrate his birthday, which is on the 27th December. So, on the 28th we decided to go partay!

At first we wanted to go Mumbo Jumbo Night at Zouk but they were having some event so we decided to just chill instead of obsessive club dancing. I was obviously disappointed.
I wanted to dance!

My kampung motto to Akarkarya studio’s staff is ‘menari sampai pengsan’ but it was the birthday boy’s decision so we went to a small little club / bar, I totally forgot the name of that place and decided to just drink and sway away to the music.

There was a band playing while we were there. They’re good…

From English to Malay song, we don’t care. Layan only!

There was no dancing but there was a lot of drinking.

Well not to say no dancing. After awhile, sitting down and drinking is just not enough so we made our own dance floor. But just for a short while.

I'll let the pictures do the talking now.. well, since I was the only one with a camera.

Joanna, birthday boy and yours truly

Joshy, Hogan, Andrew with their very irritating faces. And me of course.

A classic picture of me and Paps! Heeee..=)

My big brother Hogan.

If you realise, I was wearing black at first. Now i'm wearing white. Ooh.. magic! No la... that place was freakin cold. Thank god I brought my jacket along.

Boys will be boys ya..

Joanna a.k.a Yoon and moi. *Warning: There'll be a lot of pictures of the both of us!

I sayang you!!!

The Reds, The Black and The Tiger glass

After a few drinks, Joanna and I decided to tell the band to sing a birthday song to Firdaus..

"We've got a birthday boy in the house,"

"Yeah? What's his name?"

"Firdaus"

"Alright,"

"Can you remember his name?"

"Don't worry my name is Firdaus too"

With a little alcohol in our brain, Joanna and I was like "huh?" After a few seconds we burst into laughters. Great.. we must've looked like bimbos.

When the band sang the birthday song, Firdaus never knew it was for him until the lady singer shouted "Happy Birthday Firdaus!" and we were like "Woohoo!" Then some lady pulled all of us one by one on stage to sing Firdaus' favourite song 'Kau Ilhamku'. Now that was fun.

Me and Paps again. I'm miss you already damn it!

Cheers!

On that day, my hand bag became a huge help for all of us. We were trying to sneak in another bottle of Black Label and someone gave the bright idea to stuff it into my bag! The bottle fits perfectly some more! Didn't know my big hand bag can come in handy. Hee...

Tsunny boy! I just love the look on drunk faces! Ha!

Me and Julian.

Damn..I haven't seen him for like 2 years! Missed him alot! The moment we saw each other that day it was like...

"Mahai! You forgot me already la!"

Then we started chatting like nobody's bussiness I tell you!

How you doin? Hrmmm..

When the alcohol shoots up, the boys get noisy.

But when the alcohol stays...

Hey Presto!

The next day... Firdaus had to go back to Perlis. With a sour face, I drove him to the Duta bus station and wished him goodbye..

Miss you Papa Bear...

Of Dancing and Weddings

Hell Yeah!
I'm updating!
Woohoo!

Funky Socks Show for Sri Bintang Utara and Victoria Institution Prom @ JW Marriot

This is one hell of a stressful performance!

No. 1
I had to hand sew 14 meters of cloth. One hell of a big cloth!

No. 2
Before the show most of the Funky Socksers has exams. Commitment Problems like shit I tell you!

No. 2
My Red Aliens landed the day before the show. Bluddy stomach crams!

No. 3
On the way to KL, Fiona forgot to bring her tie, which is part of the costume so we had to turn back and get it. Then when we reached there, she forgot to bring her chair, which is part of our prop. Then for a Broadway number, we are suppose to wear a white collar at our neck. All of us are assigned to make it ourselves. As for Fiona, she didn’t make the white collar for herself. So she’s the only one without it. Nice…

I was as Cynthia said ‘Dangerously Pissed Off’. I was screaming away in the car, the ballroom, and the toilet but hey, I understand the fact that she didn’t get that much sleep due to her exams and all so no worries ok Fiona.

Thanks to Joanna for helping me with the props. My cutie pie Ken Ming for agreeing to help me with one part of the dance. And my sayang Yau Chuan for holding me back from scratching and beating up anyone that pisses me off. Special thanks to Penny for driving all the way to KL to bring Fiona’s chair. Me love you!

For the show, I mixed 8 songs yaya :-

Song 1: Hey, Big Spender – Broadway Ala Mahani’s Style. Hehe =)

Song 2: Come Little Children – Hocus Pocus Soundtrack. Kirsty’s balletic solo!

Song 3: Frozen – Madonna. Cynthia’s diva solo, Fiona’s butterfly dance and my big cloth lead. Super strong Ken Ming lifted me up. Woohoo!

Song 4: All Night (Don’t Stop) – Janet Jackson. Me lurrvee this song.

Song 5: Smack My Bitch Up – Prodigy. Domino Domino Domino.

Song 6: One Thing – Amerie. Raihan’s horny debut. Haha!

Song 7: Califronia Dreaming – Benny Benassi. Disco hip-hop don’t stop!

Song 8: Spitfire – Prodigy. This choreography burns! Ooh la la!

Mahani is getting good in mixing / editing songs. All thanks to DJ NVN and Teh Tarik Crew’s DJ Fuzz! I don’t have to bug you guys anymore to edit songs! Yay!

Pictures of Ze Vain Funky Socks.

Big Spender Outfit

All black, white and silver

Abang Rizal’s Wedding @ Penang 16 & 17 Dec

Weddings, weddings, weddings.

I hate weddings! I was forced to be a bridemaid.

Me and my big huge family took our own private bus all the way to Penang just for some wedding. Adoi… Obviously I slept all the way.

They got married in a mosque. Women who is having their *ahem* cannot enter the mosque. Apparently we’re dirty at that time. Whatever.. so poor me had to stay outside the mosque all alone. So much for dressing up for the occasion. Then my little cousin *whose name is Mahani too but a.k.a Mimi* pity her poor cousin and decided to keep her company. After awhile, while wondering around outside the mosque, I spotted KFC.

K to the F to the C! Fo’ Shizzle Ma’ Nizzle! Hey Hoa!

After all that boredom and hunger, the 2 cheeky Mahani’s walked to KFC and ate Banditto pocket and Hot & Spicy chicken. Cousin’s getting married, the other two cousin’s greedily stuff themselves with delicious KFC. Yummmy…

I didn’t have the chance to take pictures of the bride and groom but the bride, she was freakin’ beautiful. Gorgeous gorgeous…

On the way back to civilization, my mam organized a karaoke competition. Oh my god… how annoying.

Me and little Mahani in the bus

My little nephews fooling around. I'm an aunty! I'm old!

My other but Australian nephew Jordan looking cute in his 'Baju Melayu'

My cousin Adib fooling around with my hair band and sunny's

Kak Shasha Bing Bang Extravaganza Wedding of the year @ Kelana Jaya 22, 23 & 24 Dec

Now this wedding costs a lot of money. A lot!

Rich people. Sheesh..

My pretty cousin had her wedding like a fairy tale wedding. Everything was beautiful. From the big huge tent to the ‘bunga telur’ they were giving away. I can say, everything looks well choreographed.

Me and 9 other cousins again had to be bridesmaids. Again, we wore perfectly same attire for 2 days. Ain’t an easy job ok!

Me and my cous' Nina on the 1st day.

Me and my darling Aisyah. Notice we're wearing the same outfit? Bridesmaid attack!

My 2nd day outfit

Henna tattoo is damn cool.

Most Muslim / Malay bride are adviced to have it on. Don’t ask why.

As for me… I became a busy body and did one big pattern on my hand and a peacock on my back. Cool…

The henna looks disgustingly brownish-black at first then after an hour you have to scrap it off and the pattern will become red. Sweet…

In the making of the Henna tattoo.

Cool foot

Flowery hand

That Indian lady is super talented

This is how the tattoo looks like after it's scrapped off. This picture is my hand. =)

Abang Rizal's Aftermath Wedding Reception @ Dewan Intergriti KL 25 Dec

I spent my Christmas day in a big hall full of strangers all dressed up and eating 'nasi minyak'.

Daddy asked me and the Funky Socks to perform for this wedding. I'm like "wha?" He wanted us to perform Asmaradana. Apparently he loves that dance. So I called the girls and yes only Kirsty can dance on that day. So for the first time in the history of Funky Socks, we did a duo dance for Asmaradana.

I love you Kirsty for dancing with me! Me daddy loves you too!

Organizing a wedding can be so tiring. For my wedding, I think I’ll just make it small. That way I don’t have to pressure my parents and relatives so much.

My parents are actually in Bali now for a honeymoon! Is that weirdly sweet or what!

Adoi.. my baby is in US and my parents in Bali. I need a stress reliever!

I miss you sayang!

Hey Jude

Sigh…

I of all people got that 10 quirks thingy to do.. bluddy hell…

Thanks a lot Kirsty… and for putting my name first in your god damn list!

Anyways, here goes..

“Here’s the game. Introduce 10 quirks or idiosyncrasies of yours on your blog, following which you are free to pick five more people to do the same thing.”

Grrrr…

1. I have to eat chocolate at least once a day. If I don’t, “blood pressure go upstairs!”

2. I have to bring a deck of cards everywhere I go. I like to relief my tensions by playing cards especially in Friendster Café. Right now, my cards are from China Airlines. Hee.. it’s cute..with a picture of an airplane and clouds…

3. I cannot live in a place where there’s only one race. It makes me crazy.. I need that diverse thing going on. Bring me to Kelantan and I will not survive 30 minutes there. =S.. I would like to thank the Chinese and Indians for migrating to Malaysia a long long time ago.

4. I once dreamt a giant broccoli chased me. It was pretty freaky and weird at the same time. The thing is I love broccoli!

5. I’m a very ‘manja’ person. Well obviously, Yau Chuan is my number one victim but if I’ve got no one to ‘manja’ with, my last resort is to ‘manja’ with my freaky 2nd brother. Which happen many times. And sometimes when my parents goes out till late at night, I’ll give them a call and treat them like they’re my children. I will say the same things they’ll say to me when I’m still out late at night.

“Do you know what time it is?”
“Do you know how worried I get every time you’re out so late?”
“I give you 5 minutes to come back. I’ll wait for you”

heheheheheheh…..=)

6. I suffer from Selachophobia. Fear of sharks. No thanks to my brother for making me watch Jaws. Whenever I do my usual swimming, I’ll start imagining some big fish is chasing me. And sometimes I get awful dreams about it like for example a shark bit me in the back, and I’ll wake up crying with a terrible back pain. It’s not funny man…

7. I wish I were the Goddess of Animals.

8. I hate weddings! This year itself, I had to be a bridesmaid for 7 of my close cousins wedding. For this December, there are 2 more weddings! Is it mating season?!

9. People with major paranoia problem should eat more. They’re so paranoid; I don’t even know if they have a slight happiness in them.

Cynthia: I’m so fat!
Mahani: Do you want me to burn you with my lighter?
---------------------------
Joanna: I hate my hair!
Mahani: Do you want me to burn you with my lighter?

10. However much I love dancing, choreographing, performing… most of the time it can be a real bitch. The pressure of last minute choreographing, time, money, effort, the feeling of exhaustion by the day and night rehearsals. The worst will be dancers who has commitment problem. With all the frustration, sometimes it really can make me cry.

Alright, that’s about it. I ain’t gonna pick 5 people like I’m supposed to because most of the people I know who has blogs have already done it and I’m not gonna trouble other people like my dear cute friend Kirsty did to me. Hee..kidding..

Ungrateful Human Beings

Forgotten

I have been waiting to meet you, talk to you,
I waited for the chance to shake your hand,
Please let me thank you for the suffering that you command,
Now that I know everything that you bring,
You are not the champion of sorrows anymore.

There was water on your mind,
And convictions that I’ve wrestled with,
I have settled with the tide,
It’s more or less uncertainty,
Just let it go and come back for another one,
The power I bleed to feed the masses was pulled away by you.

I tried to stop the rain,
Did you read about it?
Did you think about it?
From whence it came,
Did you cry and did you plead about it?

Tell me, can I see without eyes?
Can I speak without lies?
Who will be my judge and who can I trust?

Then I whisper to myself that I was forgotten.

Mahani Izzati Suleiman

After writing this song, I realized I don’t just love anybody.
I forgive but I don’t forget.

To whom it may concern:
(I’m not just talking about one person)

I regret giving you my company.
Your perversity, your impenitence and being the ungrateful person you are.
I’d spit on you when there’s nothing left to do in this world.
Right now, I rather not waste my time and saliva.

A Very Long One

Fuuuh….

There’s so many things to write about!

A trip to Hell

One fine day…Ms. Mahani Izzati Suleiman misses her run down UiTM stadium. So she went all the way to Shah Alam to visit her friends and the stadium of course.. Well, not exactly.. she went there to get signatures for her certificate.

Anyhoo… she went to see her classmates and they were actually having an exam.

An individual acting exam.

Oh how she wish she could take that exam…

While she was there, she became a busy body and took pictures of several characters her classmates became in the exam.

The Homeless Girl

Hang Tuah

The Old Man
This Old Man is my bestfriend in UiTM. He's bluddy nice and a bluddy good actor I tell you!
The Sick Girl

The Faggot
Ya know, I will never be surprise if all of them become a famous local actor in the future. Their acting is superb!
Mammy!
After the exam, she went searching for some high people’s signature. In the rain she drove all the way to the main campus (which is not near!)..reached there, walk up and down the hill and got nothing but rain drops..

“Oh minta maaf…En. ****** tiada di office sekarang.”

Then she drove to the Performing Arts campus (which is nowhere close to the main campus!) to get another person’s signature.

“Oh minta maaf… Pn. ****** tiada di office sekarang.”

Then she drove back to the stadium to get the Dean’s signature.

“Sekarang Dekan (Dean in malay) tengah bad mood. Tunggu sekejap ye.”

20 minutes later.

“Dekan tengah meeting.”

Pukimak!!!!!!!!!!

That whole day she spent in Shah Alam, she only got one bluddy signature out of six.

UiTM sucks!

She’s a bluddy good singer…
She’s very cute, funny and sporting…
Has 20 cats..
Her album Rocks!
Backing up for her was god damn fun..

Flamingo Hotel is in KL…
KL is a city known for its road JAMs
To get to Flamingo Hotel was Hell!
Raihan and I was one hour late for rehearsal…

Masquerade @ Mandarin Oriental – Switch

Mandarin Oriental is in KL
Again Raihan, Cynthia and I were late!
F**k you jam!

This is a bluddy easy performance.
But very hard to dance to with the massive costumes on.

This was the day the word *bad luck* is tattooed on my forehead.

First dance (Masquerade) – went down the stage too early when other dancers was still posing.

Second dance (Rock me Amadeus) – I lost my bearing so I was all confused and my placing all gone.

I only had the chance to take one picture. Don't mind the un-photoshoped pictures ya. Lazy la...

Cynthia, Mahani, Raihan in Rock Me Amadeus costume.

Third dance (Hollaback Girl) – while running down the stage stairs my boot’s heel broke and I fell flat on my ass and rolled down the stairs. Nice…

Fourth dance (Jambala) – from the third dance, we had 45 seconds to change to another total different costume. I was too blank to think because of my stupid heel so I rushed to the stage without my head gear and any shoes on.

Dara in her/his magnificent Jambala costume. He/She is a trans-sexual.

The worst performance I’ve ever done.

Adibah Noor Show @ Sri Pentas Alam Sentral – Switch

The very next day of that stupid Masquerade show I had to back up Adibah Noor again for an 8tv show. Talk about exhaustion.

Look ma! I’m on TV!

Didn’t have the chance to take a picture. We were dancing to that Joget song.
I hate classic tradisional!

Bling Bling Show @ Westin Hotel – Switch

The next week, we had a whole new show with whole new routine.

Anyways, this performance was fun.

No mistake! No hilang bearing! No accidents!

Woohoo!

Opening – Do somethin’, Get Right, We Belong Together (techno version)

Dance show – Hung up.

Me and Raihan in our Hung Up costumes. Disco baby!

Full cast in Hung Up costumes with Micheal in between me and raihan.

Closing – Hollaback Girl, These Boots are Made for Walking, Don’t Cha ( Techno version)

Me and the guys in the Boots costume.

Lum, Wai, Pei Wern, Mahani, Raihan, Kellyn, Inez

With Nita. Malaysian Idol's 1st runner-up.

For this performance, I had the opportunity to become a lead!

This boots are made for walking!

I was the solo girl for These Boots are Made for Walking so I had to mime to the song with 3 guy dancers behind me. Practically, I was a black haired Jessica Simpsons for 2 minutes. Cool…

Fake Jessica Simpson in action.

*You keep saying you got something for me!*

Masquerade + Deja Moss Show @ Sunway Convention Centre – Switch

Again! The next day of the previous show we had to perform the Masquerade show one more time for a completely different crowd.

This time we weren’t late! Yee haaw!

I’m so bluddy glad no accidents for me at this Masquerade show.
However, I was late on stage for Jambala due to costume problems.

“Never go on stage if you’re not fully dress for the dance.”

Wise words from Mr. Micheal Tan, Artistic Director of Switch.

In our Masquerade costumes without our masks and head gear on.

Cynthia, Wai, Joanne, Mahani, Raihan.

Me *this dress is bluddy heavy I tell you!*

Cynthia

Raihan

After the end of the dance show, some of us had to stay back to back up for singer Deja Moss.

First song – I Will Survive!

Me in my I Will Survive costume.

My dress is made of paper. Looks like a news paper right?

*Surat khabar lama! Chao Chao po chi! Old news peipa!*

Raihan in her I Will Survive costume.

Cynthia's missing. She didn't join the back up group. Lucky b***h!

Second song – Sway.

Raihan and I learned the choreography like one day before the freakin’ show! How sakit hati is that!

But it all went well.. no mistakes! Ooh la la!

Performing can be so bluddy tiring!
