Life Is Not Like This

Okay, sorry for the late update.

Valentine’s Day event in Atmosphere… WE ROCK THE AUDIENCE’S SOCKS!

The Funky Socks - 13th February Valentine's eve in Atmosphere.

We got great response and the DJ was nice enough to promote my dance class for me. If it wasn’t for my sayang Yau Chuan, my dance class won’t be promoted. Thank you sayang! Thanks for pushing me. Funky Socks Rocks!

So now since this entire dancing thing is over, I’m freakin’ bored! I’m practically planning my funeral before March comes. March, the month when most girls will cry on each others shoulders, dumb people will laugh and smart people will jump with joy. Yes, I’m talking about SP freakin’ M results. Shit…by just typing those three capital letters gives me the creeps.

I had a surprised birthday party on the 24th February in Secret Recipe. Yau Chuan planned it all. How sweet of him. I had a great time with friends and we got ourselves really fat. My birthday was two days earlier though, 22nd Feb. I’m old!!!!!

Sigh… boredom is taking over me… my life is so monotonous.

Gettin' Jiggy With It

Well, I finally taught my dancers how to work it and they’re actually panicking right now. Haha! D-Day’s on Sunday night and they’re still rusty. My choreography is half crappy and half good. Whatever it is, it’s too late to re-choreograph now. The Funky Socks will scream at me if I make any changes. Though I do have to twist and turn some moves which I dislike. Bah! I’m not worried. We’ve done all this last minute bull before and we sure can do it again. The Funky Socks Rocks!

Good news: We’re finally getting paid after 2 weeks of harassing the organizers. Finally! Those god damn fools finally got into their senses and apologized for their rudeness and unprofessional attitude. So yes! For the first time, we’re finally getting paid for our hard work.

Bad news: The Funky Socksers are pretty rusty so they’re lack of confidence right now. I gotta build up their confidence before It happen man. They need the confidence. As for me, I can’t move at all. I’ve been dancing everyday without stretching and now, my body is aching real badly. So much for building confidence eh.

Dance's a Pain In the Arse

Pon pon! Here I am again updating this blog of mine with my oh-so-happening life.

First dilemma, my dance class. Well, it hasn’t started yet. Will start on Friday at 8 p.m. in Akarkarya studio. I had a free trial last week and it went alright. The Funky Socks-ers was there to support me, my sayang Yau Chuan was there too and there were some familiar faces from my old school. I taught them an old dance of mine. I didn’t have the time to choreograph a new one since it was all a last minute planning kinda thing. Typical me.

Straight on to the second dilemma. A year ago, a group of friends decided to organize a Valentine’s Day event on the eve of Valentine’s Day in Atmosphere and they asked me and my dance group to perform for that event. Well, obviously I wouldn’t want to miss that kind of opportunity so I said yes. So one year has passed and as I practically lost all sorts of memories, out of the blue they called me and wanted to confirm with me about it. As usual I practically forgot about it bla bla bla yada yada yada (I think I’m suffering from short-term memory loss) and I said ok and of course I told them that I’ve stop performing for free.

Bad idea.

They straight away told me that it’s actually a charity event for the Tsunami victims and all the other people who will be performing (who are actually celebrities) are doing it for free. They told me that we will get publicity and we’ll be promoted in Juice magazine. Also there’s some big shots from the entertainment area will be there too. Adoi… if in that case it’s not my call because I’m doing it for the love of dance, not for publicity and I have to think of my dancers too. I’m just so sick of performing for free! I had to ask for something in return. It’s not like I’m money crazy or something, our mothers gotta pay for the dance studio, car petrol and the non-obvious, our time and effort. It wouldn’t be fair for poor mams. The organizers are pretty much full of bull actually.

  1. Even if it’s a charity thingy, they’re obviously not gonna give their whole benefits. So practically they do have the money.
  2. I seriously don’t think that other celebrities will actually do it for free even if it’s a charity thingy. It’s not easy for their manager to let them do these kinda things for free.
  3. One of the group celebrities is not happy about it either. So they’re asking for RM1500 and the organizers are actually considering about it.
  4. Heck! I’m only asking for RM125! I’m not asking for much. RM125 for a 5 hour studio payment. Is that too much! Baaaah!

So I told them, if they still refuse to give that small amount of money I asked for then find us a dance studio where we can practice for free. Fair enough?

Third dilemma. All this conflicts is making me so stressful. I have exactly 2 weeks before the big day and I’m having the thing they say choreographer’s block. I can barely move. It’ll all just come out crappy. Plus, stupid back pains! I’m actually on the verge of giving up but I guess that wouldn’t be fair to The Funky Socks-ers. God damn it woman!

My life is so wonderful…
