Everyday is Friday

For the past few weeks I’ve been complaining about my job at TGI Friday’s. Every night I come home from work and the same feeling goes right up to my head. “I need a break.” Working there is like carrying a thousand bags of rice everyday. It’s hurting my back, feet, shoulders, everywhere! And to deal with fussy, ungrateful, insane, jimbit customers, it’s all in the game.

A few days ago, I decided to call it quits. I gave them my resignation letter and walk off. Then my general manager stopped me and he said he doesn’t want me to leave. I stared at him and said I have to and he said no. N.O. no. Then he asked me if I would prefer to be a hostess. Then I started thinking about the job hostess’ do. Not much work and I don’t have to wear that idiotic looking red stripes and the apron anymore but the job is boring. Oh well, what the heck. I agreed and he said “great!” with his stupid fake American accent. It’s like hello! You stayed in Johor Bahru for 43 years and you have an American accent! Check the attitude dude!

Let’s see how well I work as a hostess.

“Hi! Welcome to Friday’s!”
“Table for two?”
“Any smoking preference?”
“Alright! Follow me!”

I’m beginning to wonder, am I actually a food and beverage staff material?
